This part should be replaced immediately if it should get broken as it acts like a bumper to protect the hull if the boat is grounded with the daggerboard down. If it is not replaced then the next time the boat is grounded the hull could be damaged. It is very easy to replace and only needs mastic placing in screw holes and around the hull plate indent and a new one screwing in place. Wipe of excess mastic with white spirit.
